As we approach the Holiday Season, regardless of your belief, this is a time for family; or it certainly should be.
As we get closer to the Holiday season our lives become filled with the trivial logistics of the season – shopping, parties and travel plans.
I wanted to do something different this year and not become bogged down on the trivial stuff and rather spend some time thinking about something so much more important.
We have young Americans away from home and in harm’s way. They are defending this country from our enemies and helping to create an opportunity of freedom for others. While doing the ugly work of overcoming those that seek to destroy they are building into the lives of young Iraqi and Afghan children a hope that their future will be better than their past. Bringing the hope of freedom that will bring the opportunity to take their lives in their own hands and fill it with joy rather than fear.
One can only imagine what it must be like to be a parent of a young child in Iraq and to look at that child knowing that this child may have a better life than they did. The truth being that their child’s freedom came at the sacrifice of the young men and women of the US military.
As I reflected on their great sacrifice I thought of those young men and women who paid the ulitimate sacrifice and their families who will spend a Holiday Season with an empty chair at the family dinner table.
So to make sure I don’t forget who they are this Christmas season I will profile some of the bravest of Americans, who have given their lives in the service of this country and in the service of freedom – freedom for us and freedom for strangers in foreign lands.

As the United States gets closer to the Christmas season at the same time as facing uncertain financial times, this is a good time to buy American.
As a nation we have become addicted to cheap Asian manufactured goods. That’s where all the manufacturing jobs have gone!
I am proud of the fact that the products I represent are made here in the USA by local labor.
Our storybooks and other printed products are printed, bound and mailed here in the US. Even our technology is created here in the USA at time when many companies are taking advantage of low wages in India and China for technology development.
We are very proud of the quality of our products, our technology and our personal level of service and support. These things are important; we are unique in what we have to offer. We are excited to see our company grow these past years and with the continued support of our customers we expect to see even more American workers employed in 2009.
So as you think about the many choices you have to spend your money, think about buying something made in America.

I Love Making a Living as a Personal Publishing Consultant!
I never dreamed I would have so much fun, feel so good about what I do as a Personal Storybooking Consultant – helping wonderful people preserve their memories and make money doing it! While surfing the web today, I found this really great blog and so much fun reading it. This lady is very talented with designing Digital Scrapbooking goodies. I downloaded some of her free art and now that we can upload png files to Heritage Makers I decided to give it a try. I fell in love with the free kit called “Totally Pink” and I just knew I had to use it to create a page for my little Granddaughter Olivia. I know she is going to love it – I am NOT a designer in any way shape or form, and I am not that great at even doing a page layout – but it is so much fun. My husband says I am getting better doing page layouts 
– truth be known Digital Scrapbooking is as easy as 123 using Heritage Makers online Publishing System – no expensive software to buy or learn. It is a fantastic web based system and so easy to use (I think I already said that…) BUT I wish every frustrated Scrapbooker would give it a try…see for yourself!

As a mother who has experienced the loss of a child (Click for my own story); I know that the loss of a child is a life long journey.
